The people leading the next chapter

tomboyx has always been built by people who give a damn. With co-founder Fran Dunaway back in an active leadership role and new creative and operational leadership in place, we’re entering our next chapter with clarity about who we are, what we’re building, and who we’re building it for.

Fran Dunaway
Co-Founder & President

Fran co-founded tomboyx in 2013 with her wife, Naomi Gonzalez, out of a 1-car garage, with a simple idea: underwear that fits how you actually see yourself. She recently led an ownership restructuring to regain controlling interest — because protecting what makes tomboyx special is personal.

“We started this brand in a 1-car garage, and bringing it back feels like coming home.”

Seujan Bertram (New)
Chief Executive Officer

Seujan leads day-to-day operations with a focus on sustainable growth, financial clarity, and long-term stability. She brings deep experience scaling organizations through periods of rapid change and building the infrastructure that makes durability possible.

“My role is to make sure the business is as strong as the mission.”

James Ford (New)
Chief Creative Officer

James leads the next evolution of tomboyx's creative direction. The community doesn’t want a prepackaged aesthetic handed to them — and tomboyx won’t offer one. He’s refreshing core collections and building a design language rooted in self-expression, not trends.

“There’s so much hope in the community right now, and our responsibility is to meet it.”
